About Senior Tech Simplified

The story behind the blog — and the person who writes it for you every week.

Meet your guide

Hi, I am Dennis — and I Have Been Right Where You Are

There was a time when technology felt overwhelming to me, too. I was not born knowing how to use a smartphone, set up Wi-Fi, or figure out why the screen went dark. I learned it all on my own — one step at a time, through trial and error, and a whole lot of patience.

Along the way, I started helping the people around me — family members, neighbors, seniors in my community — who were being left behind as technology moved faster and faster. I watched people struggle with things that should have been simple. I saw the frustration on their faces. And I knew there had to be a better way.

"Nobody should feel left behind just because technology keeps changing. Every person deserves to feel confident and connected — no matter their age."

— Dennis, Founder of Senior Tech Simplified

So I created Senior Tech Simplified. Not as a tech expert with a fancy degree — but as someone who genuinely understands what it feels like to not know where to start, and who has spent years figuring out the simplest, clearest way to explain technology to real people.

Why this blog exists

Three Things That Pushed Me to Start

👨‍👩‍👧 Family Came First

I watched family members struggle with technology that was supposed to make their lives easier. Simple things — like answering a video call from a grandchild or finding a phone number — became stressful moments. I wanted to change that, starting with the people I loved most.

👀 I Saw Seniors Being Left Behind

Everywhere I looked, I saw the same thing — seniors being handed a smartphone or tablet with no real guidance, then blamed for "not getting it." The truth is, most tech is not designed with seniors in mind. I wanted to be the bridge between confusing technology and the people who deserve to use it.

🙋 My Own Experience Helping Others

Over the years, I helped many seniors — one-on-one — set up their devices, avoid scams, and connect with their families online. Every single time, I heard the same thing: "I wish someone had explained it to me this way years ago." That told me this blog needed to exist.

What makes this blog different

This Is Not Your Average Tech Blog

Most tech blogs are written for individuals who already have a strong understanding of technology. This one is different — and here is how:

✅  Written for beginners — we assume you are starting from zero. That is perfectly fine.

✅  No tech jargon — if we have to use a technical word, we always explain what it means in plain English.

✅  Real, honest advice — I only write about things I have personally researched and believe are genuinely helpful.

✅  New articles every week — I have been writing helpful content across multiple blogs for over 5 years, and I am not stopping anytime soon.

✅  A real person behind every word — this is not a faceless website. When you leave a comment, I read it. When you have a question, I do my best to help.
